Webflow is a website platform where you design pages visually, manage content in a built-in CMS, and publish to Webflow's own hosting, with no servers or plugins to maintain. It's built for marketing sites. Since May 2026 a site with the CMS costs $25 a month billed yearly, and AI agents can now edit it for you.
We've built on Webflow since 2022, and we publish this blog through Webflow's CMS API. On 4 November 2026 we checked every price and date in this guide against Webflow's own pages, then fetched 214 live Webflow sites to see what B2B teams actually run on it.
Key takeaways
- Webflow is four products sold as one: a visual builder, a CMS, managed hosting, and a growing AI and agent layer.
- 2026 changed what you buy. The CMS and Business plans became Premium, the old Editor is gone so every editor needs a paid seat, and AI credits now meter the AI features.
- In our scan, 96% of sites stayed on Webflow's hosting and 62% show CMS content on the homepage. Half also run Finsweet's free add-on scripts, and none sells through Webflow Ecommerce.
- The limits that matter are 20,000 CMS items on Premium, 100 items per Collection list, and a code export that leaves the CMS behind.
- Webflow fits marketing-led B2B teams who want to ship pages without engineers. It doesn't fit a website that is really an application.
What is Webflow?
Webflow is a hosted platform for building, managing and publishing websites without writing code by hand. It combines a visual design tool, a content management system and web hosting in one subscription, and it now adds AI features and an MCP server so AI agents can work on a site too.
Vlad Magdalin, Sergie Magdalin and Bryant Chou started building Webflow in 2012 and went through Y Combinator in summer 2013. The company is based in San Francisco, Linda Tong has been its CEO since June 2024, and its homepage claims more than 300,000 brands and "tens of billions of page views a month". Those are Webflow's own figures. An independent count puts them in perspective: W3Techs finds Webflow on 0.8% of all websites in November 2026, seventh among content management systems, against 39.5% for WordPress.
Its current label is "the agentic web platform for modern businesses". In plain terms, Webflow wants AI agents to build and update your website alongside your team, and it spent 2025 and 2026 opening the platform to them.
What does each part of Webflow do?
Each part replaces something a WordPress site assembles from separate pieces.
| Part | What it does | What it replaces on a typical WordPress site |
|---|---|---|
| Designer | Builds pages visually and writes the HTML and CSS | A theme plus a page builder such as Elementor |
| CMS | Stores blog posts, case studies and other repeatable content | WordPress posts plus custom-field plugins |
| Hosting | Serves the site on AWS and Cloudflare with SSL included | A hosting plan, a CDN and security plugins |
| AI and agents | AI Assistant, AI credits and the MCP server | Separate AI plugins and scripts |
The practical difference is maintenance. A WordPress site needs someone to update the core, the theme and every plugin. A Webflow site has no plugins to update, and Webflow patches the platform itself. You trade that freedom from upkeep for less control over the code.
How does Webflow work?
You design on a canvas that writes real HTML and CSS as you go, connect repeatable content to the CMS, and press Publish. Webflow then serves the site from its own hosting, which Webflow describes as AWS infrastructure behind Cloudflare's network, with a 99.99% uptime SLA for Enterprise customers. Its security page lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001.
Four steps cover almost every project.
- Build the layout in the Designer. Every box you draw is an HTML element, and every style you set lands on a CSS class you can reuse. It looks like Figma, but it behaves like a browser, so flexbox, grid and the box model still apply.
- Turn repeated parts into components. A pricing card, a CTA band or a footer becomes one component with editable properties. Change it once and every page follows.
- Put repeatable content in the CMS. Blog posts, case studies, integrations and team members each get a Collection with fields. One template page renders every item, and Collection lists show them anywhere else.
- Publish. Webflow generates the files, serves them and handles SSL. There's no server to patch and no plugin to update.
Editing changed in 2026. The old Editor, where clients logged in on the live site, stopped working on 4 August and was fully retired on 5 October. Content editors now work inside Webflow with a seat on the Workspace. That matters for budgets: an editor is now a paid seat, not a free login.
Custom work still has a place. You can paste code into embeds and page settings, install apps from Webflow's marketplace, call the Data API, and, since Webflow's official MCP server arrived in April 2025, let an AI agent read and change the site. We run this blog that way: posts are staged in the Webflow CMS through the API, and a person approves every publish.
Is Webflow a no-code tool?
Partly. You don't write code to build a page, but you do need to understand how web layout works. A designer who knows CSS concepts will be productive in days. A marketer who has never heard of a class will build something that breaks on mobile.
That gap is why Webflow agencies and Webflow University both exist. The honest description is a visual development tool: it removes typing, not thinking.
What's in Webflow in 2026, and what costs extra?
The core subscription covers the Designer, the CMS, hosting, forms, Interactions, the MCP server and a monthly allowance of AI credits. Analytics, A/B testing, translation and the newer marketing products are add-ons with their own prices. Here is the line-up as Webflow's pricing page and help centre showed it on 4 November 2026.
| Product | What it does | Included or extra (4 Nov 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Designer | Visual building with classes, components and variables | Included |
| CMS | Collections, template pages, Collection lists | Premium and up (Basic has no CMS) |
| Hosting | AWS infrastructure behind Cloudflare, SSL | Included |
| Interactions with GSAP | Scroll and timeline animation; GSAP itself is free | Included |
| AI Assistant and AI credits | Writes copy, CMS items, code components and SEO fixes | 200 to 400 credits a month by Workspace; 2,000 more for $20 a month |
| MCP server | Lets Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and other agents read and edit your site | Every plan, no AI credits used |
| Webflow Cloud | Hosts Next.js and Astro apps next to, or apart from, your site | Allowance per plan, then usage pricing |
| Localize | Native translation and locale publishing | $9 or $29 a month per locale |
| Analyze | Cookieless site analytics | From $9 a month |
| Optimize | A/B tests and personalisation | From $299 a month |
| AEO | Answer-engine visibility data and AEO agents | Team and Enterprise only |
| Campaigns | Standalone landing pages and ad tooling | From $2,000 a month |
Prices are yearly billing. Two items on that list are newer than most guides you'll find. The MCP server is the one we'd point a B2B team at first: it's free, it respects user roles, and it lets your AI assistant update CMS items or check a page without anyone opening the Designer. AI credits are the one to budget for. Webflow doesn't publish a rate card, so you see what a feature consumes only by using it.
How did Webflow get here?
Webflow started in 2013 as a visual way to build websites, added a CMS in 2015, and spent 2024 to 2026 turning itself into what it now calls an agentic web platform. Most of the last two years' changes affect what you pay for and who can edit.
| Date | What happened |
|---|---|
| 2013 | Webflow, built from 2012, joins Y Combinator |
| 7 Oct 2015 | The CMS launches for everyone |
| 15 Oct 2024 | Optimize, built on the Intellimize acquisition, launches with Analyze and the AI Assistant; Webflow buys GSAP |
| 8 Apr 2025 | The first official MCP server ships |
| 27 Jun 2025 | Logic is switched off; User Accounts follow on 29 Jan 2026 |
| 21 Jul 2025 | Webflow Cloud becomes generally available |
| 9 Apr 2026 | The next-gen CMS reaches every site |
| 13 May 2026 | CMS and Business plans merge into Premium; the Team plan and AI credits arrive |
| 27 May 2026 | Webflow restructures around the "agentic web" |
| 21 Jul 2026 | MCP 2.0 ships free to every user |
| 2 Sep 2026 | Source, an agent-native product for your own codebase, enters research preview |
| 5 Oct 2026 | The legacy Editor is fully retired; every editor needs a seat |
| 16 Nov 2026 | New prices reach Freelancer and Agency Workspace sites (scheduled) |
The retirements matter as much as the launches. Logic, User Accounts and the Editor are gone, so any guide that recommends them is describing a product you can no longer buy. Several of the pages ranking for this question still do.
What do B2B teams actually build on Webflow?
Mostly marketing sites with a CMS behind them, interactions on top and a CRM bolted on. On 4 November 2026 we fetched the live homepage, robots.txt, llms.txt and sitemap of 225 sites that our earlier scans had found on Webflow. 214 still carried Webflow's markup that day, and those 214 are the base for every number in this section.
They're not a random sample of Webflow's customers. The pool is startup and B2B SaaS sites, plus sites from Webflow's own showcase, so read it as "what tech companies do with Webflow". We read homepages and sitemaps only.
| What we checked | Sites | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Served by Webflow's own hosting | 206 | 96% |
| Webflow Interactions on the homepage | 172 | 80% |
| A CMS Collection list on the homepage | 133 | 62% |
| Finsweet Attributes (free add-on scripts) | 107 | 50% |
| An llms.txt file | 99 | 46% |
| A native Webflow form | 94 | 44% |
| HubSpot scripts | 80 | 37% |
| Webflow Analyze or Optimize tracking | 60 | 28% |
| Two or more languages | 39 | 18% |
| Webflow Ecommerce or user accounts | 0 | 0% |
Three patterns stand out.
Nearly everyone stays on Webflow hosting. 206 of 214 sites answered with Webflow's hosting header, and 202 came through Cloudflare. A few answered through Vercel, nginx or CloudFront while still passing Webflow's header, which is what a proxy in front of Webflow looks like.
The CMS is the point. 62% show a Collection list on the homepage itself, and 147 of the 194 readable sitemaps have a blog-like folder. The median sitemap lists 302 URLs, and 110 sites have at least one folder with more than 100 URLs. That's more than a single Collection list can display, which we come back to in the limits section.
Webflow is rarely the whole stack. Half the sites load Finsweet Attributes, free scripts that add filtering, list loading and other CMS features Webflow doesn't ship. 37% load HubSpot, and 35 sites run a Webflow form and HubSpot side by side. 70% load Google Tag Manager. No homepage we scanned used Webflow Ecommerce or Webflow's old user accounts. For these teams, Webflow is the marketing site; the product, the CRM and the checkout live elsewhere.
How much does Webflow cost in 2027?
A B2B marketing site on Webflow costs about $83 a month in platform fees at the low end, $255 a month for a team publishing in two languages, and $2,500 a month on the Team plan. Those totals combine a site plan, a Workspace plan, seats and add-ons at Webflow's yearly prices on 4 November 2026. The build itself is a separate and much larger number.
Webflow bills two things. A Site plan pays for hosting and features on one site. A Workspace plan pays for the people and tools that build and edit it, and every person who edits content now needs a seat.
| Plan | Billed yearly | Billed monthly | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Free | Free | webflow.io address, 2 pages, 50 CMS items |
| Basic | $15 a month | $25 a month | Custom domain, 300 pages, no CMS, 10 GB bandwidth |
| Premium | $25 a month | $39 a month | CMS with 20,000 items and 40 Collections, 50 GB bandwidth |
| Team | $2,500 a month, annual contract | 5 full and 5 limited seats, 2 locales, AEO agents, publishing workflows | |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom limits, SSO, 99.99% hosting SLA | |
| Core Workspace | $19 a month | $28 a month | 1 full seat, code export, 300 AI credits |
| Growth Workspace | $49 a month | $60 a month | 1 full seat, 400 AI credits |
| Extra seats | Full $39, limited $15 a month | Full seats design; limited seats edit content and build with components |
Prices are from webflow.com/pricing, in US dollars, before tax. Premium's price rises with bandwidth: 50 GB is included, which Webflow says usually covers 5,000 to 25,000 page views a month. 100 GB adds $20 a month and 1 TB adds $374. Bandwidth counts bot traffic too, and two months in a row over the limit triggers an automatic upgrade.
What does that mean over three years? We priced three common set-ups.
| Set-up | Monthly | Three years (USD) | Three years (GBP) | Three years (INR) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lean: Premium, Core Workspace, 2 limited seats, Analyze | $83 | $2,988 | £2,228 | ₹2.83 lakh |
| Growing: Premium, Growth Workspace, 2 extra full and 3 limited seats, Analyze, one extra language, extra AI credits | $255 | $9,180 | £6,846 | ₹8.70 lakh |
| Team plan | $2,500 | $90,000 | £67,113 | ₹85.27 lakh |
A lakh is 100,000 rupees. Conversions use the European Central Bank's reference rates for 3 November 2026: $1 = £0.7457 = ₹94.75.
The jump from the second row to the third is the real decision. Team doesn't raise the 20,000-item limit by default. It adds governance: page branching, single-page publishing, an activity log, ten seats and AEO agents. If you need those, it's cheap compared with building them. If you don't, Premium plus a Workspace does the same publishing job for a tenth of the price.
Platform fees are rarely the biggest number, which is why we break down build budgets separately in what a Webflow site costs a B2B SaaS company and keep every plan detail current in our Webflow pricing guide.
What are Webflow's limits?
The limits B2B teams hit are rarely the headline ones. Few sites reach 20,000 CMS items. Far more run into the 100-item Collection list, the seat bill, or the fact that the CMS doesn't come with you if you leave.
| Limit | The number | What it means in practice |
|---|---|---|
| Items per Collection list | 100 | A blog index or customer grid shows 100 items, then needs pagination or a script |
| Collection lists per page | 40, with up to 10 nested | Rarely a problem since the April 2026 CMS update |
| CMS items | 20,000 on Premium and Team | Team can buy more; Enterprise is custom |
| Static pages | 300 on Basic and Premium, 500 on Team | Programmatic page sets belong in the CMS |
| Code export | Static HTML, CSS and JavaScript, on paid Workspaces | Leaves out CMS content, Ecommerce and localized pages; forms stop working and you can't re-import it |
| Logins and app logic | None since User Accounts closed on 29 January 2026 | Use Memberstack or Outseta, or build an app on Webflow Cloud |
| Webflow Cloud apps | 30 seconds of CPU and 128 MB memory per request | Fine for calculators and tools, not for heavy back ends |
Sources: Webflow's pricing page, Collection list limits, code export and Webflow Cloud limits, all read on 4 November 2026.
We've hit the first limit on a live project. The First December Films site has 157 live films, and a Collection list renders at most 100, so the work grid shows about 94 and the rest are reached through director pages, related work and search. The fix was a catalogue search that runs in a separate Webflow Cloud app (Astro on Cloudflare Workers), not a hack. It's a common situation: in our scan, 110 of 194 sites with a readable sitemap had a folder with more than 100 URLs.
The export limit is the one to understand before you sign. You can export each Collection as a CSV, but leaving Webflow means rebuilding the templates and the CMS somewhere else. That's normal for a hosted platform. It's worth saying out loud anyway, because several of the guides ranking for this question still call the export easy.
Is Webflow good for SEO and AI search?
On the foundations, yes. The gaps are in what teams forget to set. Webflow publishes plain HTML with the text already in it, so search engines and AI crawlers can read a page without running JavaScript. Titles, descriptions, canonicals, redirects, sitemaps and robots.txt are all editable without code.
Our scan shows both sides. The median homepage carried 1,130 words of text in its raw HTML, before any script ran, which is the part AI crawlers read. 96% had a meta description and 85% an og:image. But 27% had no canonical tag, 27% didn't have exactly one H1, and 36% had no structured data at all. Webflow gives you every one of those controls. It doesn't fill them in for you.
AI search is where Webflow sites are moving fastest. 99 of the 214 sites (46%) already serve an llms.txt file, which Webflow has supported since July 2025, and 94 of those open with the Markdown title the llms.txt proposal asks for. Blocking is rare: 11 sites block at least one AI crawler in robots.txt, most often Common Crawl's CCBot. Two block every crawler, Googlebot included, which looks like a mistake rather than a policy.
Speed is better than its reputation. In HTTP Archive's technology report for September 2026, 71.3% of Webflow sites passed all three Core Web Vitals on mobile, up from 56.3% in January 2024. WordPress sites passed at 48.3% the same month and Squarespace at 71.0%. Wix did better than all of them at 80.9%, so Webflow isn't the fastest builder, just one of the faster ones.
The country split is the number Indian teams should notice. Webflow sites passed at 80.2% for visitors in the US and 79.3% in the UK, but at 39.1% for visitors in India. That's Chrome data from real visitors, so it reflects networks and phones as much as the platform. If your buyers browse on mid-range Android phones, budget for image and script discipline whatever you build on.
We go deeper on schema, AEO and what Webflow does and doesn't automate in Is Webflow good for SEO, GEO and AEO?
What do people who use Webflow say about it in 2026?
Opinion split hard in 2026. Agencies and marketing teams at larger B2B companies mostly back Webflow's new direction. Freelancers, small-site builders and engineering-led startups are the loudest critics, and a visible group has moved their sites to code.
The case for. Webflow's CEO, Linda Tong, argues that launching is the easy part. She told CMSWire in September 2026 that "the build is actually the cheapest part of it", and that upkeep is where the cost sits. Uros Mikic, CEO of the agency Flow Ninja, puts it plainly: Webflow is the platform his team recommends "for B2B marketing operations, content-led growth, AEO, and enterprise". Greenhouse's CMO said in a case study Webflow published that the old site "felt a little bit like a straitjacket".
The case against. Jacob Jacquet, CEO of Rezi, moved off Webflow in November 2026 after being quoted $2,500 a year to add one language, and wrote that the pricing "feels like it's designed for customers who can't leave". Anita Kirkovska of Vellum rebuilt their site with coding agents and reported saving $30,000 a year on the Webflow bill, while admitting Webflow had quietly handled sitemaps, redirects and forms for them. Timothy Ricks, creator of the Lumos framework, said in a June 2026 video that people reach out "every couple weeks" to say they're moving to AI-assisted builds, though he added that he doesn't see Webflow "going anywhere anytime soon". He joined Webflow in September.
The usage numbers show a small dip, not an exodus. W3Techs put Webflow on 0.9% of all websites in January 2026 and 0.8% in November, after years of steady growth. HTTP Archive's monthly crawl found Webflow on 66,369 mobile sites at its February 2026 peak and 60,687 in September. Real, but modest.
The reaction to the May 2026 pricing change was mostly negative. On Webflow's own forum thread about it, 92 of 193 member replies used critical wording by our keyword count, and the most-liked reply, from a Webflow partner, called it "a price increase wearing a simpler label". Business-software review sites stay positive: G2 showed 4.4 out of 5 from 995 reviews in an archived copy dated 26 October 2026.
Both camps agree on where the line is. If marketers own the site and nobody on the team wants to maintain code, Webflow's upkeep advantage is real. If engineers are already on hand, the exit stories are persuasive. The fit test below draws the same line.
Who should use Webflow, and who should skip it?
Use Webflow when the people who change the website every week are marketers and designers, the site is mostly public pages and content, and you'd rather pay a platform than run servers. Skip it when the website is really an application, when you need far more than 20,000 CMS items on a mid-market budget, or when regulated data has to pass through it.
Six questions decide most of it. None of them is about features. They're about who does the work and where the data lives.
| Question | Webflow fits when | Look elsewhere when |
|---|---|---|
| Who edits the site each week? | Marketers and designers, without a developer in the loop | Engineers own every change anyway |
| What is the site? | Public marketing pages, a blog, case studies, resources | A logged-in product, a portal or a store with complex catalogue logic |
| How much structured content? | Under 20,000 CMS items | Hundreds of thousands of programmatic pages |
| Where do leads go? | A CRM such as HubSpot or Salesforce through an app or embed | Custom server-side logic on every form submission |
| What data touches the site? | Marketing data only | Health records or other regulated data |
| Who must own the code? | You're fine renting the platform | You need the full source, CMS and all, in your own repository |
Count the questions where your answer matches "Webflow fits when". Five or six: Webflow is a strong default. Three or four: it can work, but price the workarounds before you commit. Two or fewer: look at WordPress, a headless CMS with a framework such as Astro or Next.js, or Framer for a smaller site.
Skip Webflow if
- Your website is your product. Logins, dashboards and per-user data belong in an application. Webflow shut down its user accounts on 29 January 2026, so the old workaround is gone.
- You publish at programmatic scale. If the plan is 200,000 location or integration pages, the item cap and the publishing model will fight you.
- Your engineers already own the site and want it in Git. Webflow's export doesn't carry the CMS, and the Designer isn't a code editor. A framework will suit them better.
- Regulated data has to flow through forms. Webflow's terms say it "does not offer HIPAA compliant services", so patient data stays out. Our Webflow for healthcare guide covers the workarounds.
How does Webflow compare with WordPress, Framer and Astro?
Webflow sits between a no-maintenance builder and a developer framework. It gives marketers more structure than a small Framer site usually needs, asks for far less upkeep than WordPress, and gives engineers less freedom than Astro with a headless CMS.
| Webflow | WordPress | Framer | Astro with a headless CMS | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Who edits day to day | Marketers and designers in Webflow | Editors in the WordPress admin | Designers | Editors in the CMS; developers ship changes |
| Hosting and upkeep | Included; Webflow patches the platform | You pick the host and update core, theme and plugins | Included | You pick the host; developers maintain the code |
| Mobile Core Web Vitals pass rate, Sep 2026 | 71.3% | 48.3% | 70.8% | 71.1% |
| Code ownership | Rent the platform; export leaves the CMS behind | Open source | Rent the platform | Your repository |
| Best fit | Marketing-led B2B sites with a CMS | Content-heavy sites with a developer on call | Small, design-led sites | Engineering-led teams |
The speed row comes from HTTP Archive's technology report for September 2026, where Framer appears as "Framer Sites". Three of the four sit within half a point of each other, so speed shouldn't decide this. Who edits and who maintains should.
We've compared each pair in detail: Webflow vs WordPress, Webflow vs Framer and Astro vs Webflow.
Is Webflow different for teams in the US, UK and India?
The product is the same everywhere, and the list prices are in US dollars everywhere. What changes is tax, payments and what the dollar price means locally.
| United States | United Kingdom | India | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium, billed yearly | $25 a month | About £18.64 a month | About ₹2,369 a month |
| Tax on the subscription | Sales tax in 25 states plus Washington DC | Add a UK VAT ID and Webflow doesn't charge tax | Add a GST ID and Webflow doesn't charge tax |
| Ecommerce payments | Stripe and PayPal | Stripe and PayPal | Stripe can't take Webflow's transaction fee in India, so stores need Ecommerce Plus or Advanced |
Tax details are from Webflow's help articles on sales tax, updated 3 November 2026, and payment providers. Conversions use the ECB rates above.
For most teams the platform fee won't be the deciding factor. The bigger question is the same in Bengaluru as in Boston: who maintains the site after launch. An Indian agency will quote the build in rupees and a US one in dollars, but the Webflow invoice underneath both is identical. The one India-specific number to plan around is the speed gap above.
How should a B2B team get started with Webflow?
Start with the content and the people, not the template. Most Webflow projects that go wrong do so because nobody decided who edits what, or because the CMS was designed after the pages.
- Inventory your content. List every page type and every repeatable item: posts, case studies, integrations, team members. Anything you'll have more than a few of belongs in a CMS Collection.
- Pick the plan from the content, not the price. No CMS needed: Basic. Any blog or resource library: Premium. Approval workflows and ten seats: Team.
- Decide who gets seats. A designer needs a full seat. Marketers who only edit content need limited seats. Reviewers are free.
- Build components before pages. A component library makes every later page faster and keeps the site consistent once marketers start building.
- Connect the stack early. CRM forms, analytics, consent and tag manager go in during the build, not after launch. In our scan, 37% of sites ran HubSpot and 38% a cookie consent tool.
- Plan the migration if you have a site already. Redirects, metadata and CMS imports are where rankings get lost. Our WordPress to Webflow migration page covers the steps.
Two of our projects show steps 5 and 6 in practice. For Viraalay, a villa brand in India, we built a booking engine that reads live prices from Guesty and takes payment through PayU; a listing change reaches the live site in under two minutes. GoFIGR moved from Bubble to Webflow and reached a performance score of 88.
If you're weighing a build or a migration, our Webflow agency team can scope it, and the free AI Design Scorer will grade your current site first.
What's next for Webflow?
Webflow says its next year is about agents. These are Webflow's own plans, not guarantees.
- 16 November 2026: the new plan prices reach sites in Freelancer and Agency Workspaces and sites on discounts from 2022 or earlier, at their next renewal (help centre).
- Later in 2026: Releases, whole-site branching for pages, CMS and components, is promised in beta "later this year" (Conf 2026 recap).
- Date disputed: Assets, a brand-asset generator built on the Vidoso acquisition, was promised for "this October" on Webflow's blog and "early next year" in its press release the same day.
- Coming months: Source, Webflow's agent-native product for teams that keep their own Next.js or Astro codebase, stays a limited research preview.
- Ongoing: more AI features move onto AI credits, and Webflow says credit rates "may be adjusted over time".
Our read: the Webflow you buy in 2027 is the visual builder and CMS you'd recognise, with agents doing more of the editing. Source suggests Webflow itself expects some customers to want code underneath. If you're signing a long contract now, that's the trade-off to watch.
What is Webflow used for?
Webflow is mostly used for marketing websites: company sites, blogs, case-study libraries, landing pages and resource hubs. In our scan of 214 live Webflow sites on 4 November 2026, 62% showed CMS content on the homepage and none sold products through Webflow Ecommerce.
Is Webflow better than WordPress?
For a marketing site that marketers edit, usually yes. Webflow needs no plugin or server upkeep, and 71.3% of Webflow sites passed mobile Core Web Vitals in September 2026 against 48.3% for WordPress. WordPress wins when you need open-source code, very large content volumes or a developer-built feature set.
Is Webflow free?
Webflow has a free Starter plan for building on a webflow.io address, with 2 pages and 50 CMS items. Publishing to your own domain needs a paid site plan: Basic at $15 a month or Premium at $25 a month, both billed yearly, as of 4 November 2026.
Is Webflow hard to learn?
Webflow is easy to start and slow to master. Building a page needs no code, but you have to understand layout concepts such as classes, flexbox and the box model. Designers who know CSS are productive within days, while most marketers edit content rather than build pages.
Can you export a Webflow site?
Yes. On a paid Workspace you can export the HTML, CSS and JavaScript of your static pages, and each CMS Collection as a CSV. The code export leaves out CMS pages, Ecommerce and localized content, so leaving Webflow means rebuilding the templates elsewhere.
